Art Walk Artists

Artists

Dani loves living in Green Valley Lake because of its
mountain setting and surrounding national forest. She
gathers up the pine needles and weaves them into the
most exquisite baskets you have ever seen—some have
lids with little pine cones on top; some have deer antlers
for a handle; some are decorated with feathers, beads
and leather ties; some have blue stain wood or agates
on the bottom. They are incredibly beautiful and
definitely a must see on the Art Walk!

As a plein air painter (painting in the open air), Trish selects
the elements of an alluring natural scene that best express
the mood she wants to convey. Nature provides raw
materials for the artist’s design on canvas. An artist must
work quickly outside to capture the ever-changing effects of
light. It is this creative process that Trish finds most
rewarding and challenging. She will often use her plein air
works as a plan for larger paintings done in her studio.
Creating a still life work involves designing an “interior
landscape.” Trish uses flowers from her garden, objects she
collects, as well as family heirlooms to create her sensitive
still life works. Her colorful painting style recalls the
Impressionist painters and the works of the early California
artists.

For more than 20 years, Greg has worked as an
illustrator/designer in the entertainment industry,
developing his fine art skills from studying the great
old masters as well as the contemporary masters.
Now residing in the Big Bear Valley, Greg's painting is
clearly reflecting the passion he holds for life and his
art. Meet Greg Zook at this years Pine Knot Village
Art Walk.
