The purpose, or mission, of this organization is the promotion of fine art in Mountain and Desert region of California, Nevada and Arizona. The Mountain and Desert Arts association will: (a) support continuing art education for members and non-members by providing access to quality instructors; (b) encourage local and regional artists to show and sell their work in the community of Big Bear LAke, CA; (c)facilitate providing an attractive environment in which artists can exhibit their work that has been placed for sale, and in which prospective buyers may browse and purchase said work; (d) schedule one or more major shows in the Community of Big Bear LAke, CA, for members, non-members, and students for these purposes; (e) create and award annual scholarship(s) for high school seniors and undergraduate students who are studying for a fine arts degree; (g) establish and maintain an art gallery in Big Bear Lake, CA for members to be operated as a separate for-profit entity (the Gallery). |
